What the key tasks will look like

As an IT Technology Lead, you will oversee and review the work of development teams, acting as a bridge between teams such as Security, Architecture, and Release Management/DevOps. You will provide guidance on the technical direction of the Technology Roadmap and offer expertise in relevant technologies.

More concretely you will:

  • Propose improvements to existing applications within DKV Belgium to reduce their Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Advise teams on technical and project delivery roadmap decisions.
  • Contribute to and validate Low-Level Design and specifications for IT development requests.
  • Troubleshooting and identify system and application issues.
  • Establish standard guidelines and best practices for development teams.
  • Implement proof of concepts as outlined by the technical roadmap, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Manage the IT Change Advisory Board community.
  • Identify risks and developing contingency plans promptly.
  • Conduct security audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Advise and support the development and implementation of the Technology Roadmap.
  • Analyse and advise on application bugs.
  • Analyse root causes of recurring problems and propose fundamental solutions or workarounds.
  • Assist in the implementation and development of approved improvements.
  • Maintain technical documentation.

Required skills and competencies

  • You obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree within an IT-related field, or similar by experience, and have +10 years professional experience within different companies and IT landscapes
  • You are fluent in English and at least one of the two national languages (Dutch or French)
  • You have a broad technical knowledge, with especially a strong technical background within Java (preferably Spring) and an expertise in building API's and Domain Driven Design/Event Driven Architecture solutions, knowledge within React is certainly an advantage 
  • You have strong communication skills, you know how to adapt your communication in function of your stakeholder 
  • You are a real team player, you can establish collaboration within teams and actively listens and engages with your stakeholders proposals and concerns
  • You keep a structured and pragmatic working approach
